Before you start

Quick recap.

  • A pronoun must agree in number with its antecedent — a company is 'it', not 'they'.
  • If a pronoun could point to two nouns (or to no clear noun), choose the version that names the noun.
  • who = he (subject); whom = him (object); 'between you and me.'
